FM 99.0 MHz SAVE KOH LIPE

Poohlipe Radio Stations is the first communication channel established on Koh Lipe on the 5th December 2010. Previously Koh Lipe had no access to the radio, but all this has changed thanks to the efforts of Pooh. The Radio station is based at Pooh Bar Resort.

The purpose of the radio station is to provide entertainment, information and support for the people who live on the island. One great success story was when full medical checks were performed on all the boat captains by doctors from the mainland. This was communicated over the radio station so everyone was informed. Another purpose of the radio station is the lost and found facility. If anything lost this can be communicated over the radio and if found it can be collected from the station.

SAVE KOH LIPE is a project which focuses on the problems Koh Lipe is facing i.e. rubbish, recycling and excess building. All of these element are part of an action plan for the Save Koh Lipe members. The members are a mix of business owners from the island which have been established on Koh Lipe for many years.
